A similar petition requesting for the same action initiated in October 2023, but only garnered 127 signatures, therefore it rejected.
The petition demanded that the government abandon its plans to provide funding for King Charles portraits in public institutions including schools and police stations. To help with this, the government has set aside £8 million at a time when so many people in our nation are in need.
There are many more worthy things to spend £8 million on:
– the NHS
– the education system
– help for households across the country with the cost of living
– Business support

Government says it will respond to a petition at 10,000 signatures.
At 100,000 signatures the petition is considered for debate in parliament
