 Torrential Rains Wreak Havoc in Balochistan

Heavy monsoon rains have caused widespread destruction in Balochistan, resulting in the deaths of 12 people, including 5 children.

Casualties and Injuries

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reports 32 people injured, including 3 women and 10 children. The rains have also claimed the lives of 106 animals.

Property Damage

The torrential rains have damaged 263 houses, 312 acres of crops, and 19 kilometers of roads.

Relief Efforts

The PDMA and district administrations are working together to provide relief to the affected areas.

Weather Forecast

The Met Office had forecast torrential monsoon rains in the country from August 1st to 6th. The rains are expected to continue in various regions, including Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, Balochistan, and Sindh.

Flash Flooding Warning

The heavy rains may generate flash flooding in local nullahs/streams, hill torrents, and low-lying areas. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

The authorities are actively responding to the situation, providing aid to those affected. The public is urged to stay informed and follow instructions from local authorities to minimize the impact of the torrential rains.
