Strong earthquake jolts Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar

A strong earthquake on Tuesday jolted Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar, sending shock waves to surrounding areas as well.

The magnitude of the earthquake was reportedly 5.2 on the Richter scale, which also affected areas including Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Hafizabad, Swat, Azad Kashmir, Neelum Valley and adjoining areas.

The tremors created panic among the residents and forced them out of their houses and buildings.

Strong earthquake jolts Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar

The earthquake, which had a depth of 10 kilometers, began at 1:04 PM, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

According to the PMD, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IIoJK), which has coordinates of 33.32 N and 75.97 E.

No reported fatalities to date.

Tremors felt in North India and New Delhi. According to the Indian news agency ANI.
