 Security Measures Tightened for SCO Summit in Islamabad

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested foreign diplomats to limit their movements during the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Islamabad, scheduled to take place from October 15 to 16. This measure aims to ensure the safety and security of visiting dignitaries and delegates.

Restricted Movement

Diplomats are advised to confine their movements to the Red Zone and Diplomatic Enclave, following the traffic plan issued by the Islamabad Traffic Police. This will help maintain smooth traffic flow and prevent any potential security breaches.

Comprehensive Security Plan

Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi has approved a comprehensive security plan to safeguard the event. Additional personnel from the Pakistan Army, Rangers, FC, and Punjab police will be deployed to provide foolproof security for the guests.

SCO Summit Significance

The SCO summit brings together leaders from influential member states, including India, China, Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
