Quetta shutter down strike is announced by JUI-F

ISLAMABAD: Maulana Ghafoor Haideri, the central general secretary of Jamiat Ulema Islam-F (JUI-F), has ordered a shutter strike in Quetta today in protest of the bombing that took place on Thursday that targeted party leader Hafiz Hamdullah and his associates in the Mastung area.

Haideri urged Quetta’s business community to take part in this nonviolent demonstration against the horrible act.

He claimed that JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman had already had three attempts on his life and that their group had lost several intellectuals to violent crimes. He said that more than 80 people slaughtered in Bajaur alone. And that the party had witnessed the sacrifice of several workers and academics. But he added that the JUI-F has continuously maintained an unyielding stance against injustice.

According to Haideri, the JUI-F is renowned for its tenacity, frequently taking on opponents head-on. He also noted that their strength does not only come from their philosophy but also from their capacity to defend individuals who are in their care. “We have consistently faced formidable opponents, such as those responsible for the PTI chairman’s ascent to power.”

Haideri made clear that the party is remaining steadfast in its commitment to its beliefs. Based on their beliefs or their resolve to defend the state, he claimed that they were ready to meet any challenge.

He also discussed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), claiming that Pakistan has not reaped the full benefits of this initiative and that foreign powers are attempting to sow turmoil in Pakistan.
