PTI Consolidates Position with ECP Ahead of Crucial Polls
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken a significant step to strengthen its position in the political landscape by submitting affiliation forms of 38 independent members to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Strategic Move
This move marks PTI’s efforts to expand its influence and solidify its base in the National Assembly.
Affiliation Forms Submitted
A PTI representative submitted the forms to the ECP, with only three members’ affidavits pending. However, PTI sources confirm that the forms of two members, Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan and Mubeen Arif, will be submitted today.
Compliance with Electoral Regulations
In addition to the affiliation forms, PTI has also submitted additional documents related to National Assembly members to ensure compliance with electoral regulations.
Robust Political Presence
This strategic move reflects PTI’s commitment to maintaining a robust political presence in Pakistan’s parliamentary system.
Apex Court Verdict
The move comes after the apex court’s split verdict granted reserved seats to PTI, which were earlier allocated to other parties by the ECP.
PTI
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is a political party in Pakistan established in 1996 by Pakistani cricketer and politician Imran Khan, who served as the country’s prime minister from 2018 to 2022. With over 10 million members in Pakistan and abroad, it claims to be the country’s largest political party by primary membership, as well as one of the largest political parties in the world.
