PCB Rejected Atiq-uz-Zaman application as a field coach

Rejected by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Atiq-uz-Zaman gets a major responsibility in the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

The former wicketkeeper cum batter became the first Pakistani to land the ECB Batting Scout role for England Men’s and England Lions.

Scout is like a selector, who does allocate players analysis and create a report and make recommendations to the chief scout.

Atiq-uz-Zaman, who is participating in a level four coaching course in England. Had applied for the fielding coach role for the Pakistan team, but PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja rejected his application.

Due to the same reason, he resigned from National High-Performance Centre (NHPC) and left for England.

The ECB will make the formal announcement of his appointment soon.

While speaking to Private News Channel exclusively, He said that participating in the course along with other England cricketer, helped him a lot in getting the role.

“Obviously, It helped me a lot, as other England cricketers came to know about by abilities,” he said. “I haven’t passed out the course yet. I just need to pass the last assessment to complete the course.”
