ISLAMABAD: Following the recent general election on February 8, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) disclosed the most recent party positions in the National Assembly (NA).

With 107 seats, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) became the largest party. There are 23 reserved seats out of the 84 general seats, 19 of which designated for women, and four for minorities.

The Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), which has 81 general seats, is not far behind. The ECP is still checking the party’s reserved seats right now.

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) trails behind with 68 seats, comprising 54 general seats and 14 reserved seats. Of the reserved seats, twelve designated for women and two for minorities.

Similarly, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) holds 22 seats in the NA, including 17 general seats and 5 reserved seats for women and minorities.

Other notable parties include Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan-Fazl (JUI-F) with 7 seats, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) with 5, and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) with 4.

Smaller parties like Pakistan Muslim League-Zia and Balochistan National Party (BAP) each secured a single seat.

Eight seats in the National Assembly held by independent candidates. Who not associated with any political party.

The election governing body has not yet made a final decision regarding the distribution of seats to the SIC. If a decision isn’t made by Monday, the remaining 25 seats will be divided up among the other parties.

Furthermore, elections not held in one constituency. And the ECP has not yet notified candidates for two seats.
