JI-Government Talks End in Stalemate

The third round of talks between Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and the government ended without a breakthrough, as JI persisted with its demands to end the sit-in.

• Reducing petrol and electricity prices
• Reviewing Independent Power Producers (IPPs) agreements
• Abolishing levy on Petroleum Development
• Reducing food commodity prices and taxes

Government Response

Information Minister Atta Tarar described the discussion as positive, with another dialogue session scheduled for Wednesday.

The JI sit-in has entered its 13th day, highlighting public issues.

Guarantee from PM

JI demanded a guarantee from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the ongoing talks, seeking his signature on any agreement reached.
