ISLAMABAD: In the fake receipt case, the Session Court has opted to extend the interim bail of Bushra Bibi and former PTI chairman Imran Khan until January 16.

Judge Ahmed Arshad, standing in for Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra, who is presently on leave, made this decision during a hearing on Tuesday.

The duty judge raised concerns about the prosecution’s lack of presence during the hearing by asking, “Where is the prosecution lawyer? Not only does he not appear in the courtroom. The judge also pointed out that no report about the former PTI Chairman’s appearance in court had been filed.

The judge allowed Bushra Bibi to leave because the prosecution’s attorney was not present and the proceedings could not continue. In addition, the judge granted an extension of bail until January 16 for both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.

WHAT IS THE CASE OF THE FAKE RECEIPT?
In a fraud case filed at the Kohsar Police station in Islamabad. The former PTI chairman and his spouse Bushra Bibi were accused of creating “fake receipts” when selling gifts from the government.

The case filed under the categories of forgery of official documents and deception against Bushra Bibi. Shahzad Akbar, Zulfi Bukhari, Farah Gogi, and the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The FIR states that the accused used his falsified signature for the purported transaction. And produced fictitious receipts for the purchase and sale of Toshakhana gifts.

The complainant, a local watch dealer. Asserts that the investigation demonstrated that the accused had created fictitious receipts in his name on a phony shop letterhead. Which then used to sell gifts to Toshakhana.
