Exams in Sindh are postponed as Cyclone Biparjoy approaches

KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced canceling all examinations from today (Wednesday) in the wake of the Very Severe Cyclonic System (VSCS) Biparjoy, which is expected to make its landfall between Karachi and India’s Gujarat on Thursday. 

In a letter to the provincial authorities, Karachi Assistant Commissioner Abid Qamar Shaikh urged them to cancel or reschedule all exams, educational seminars, summer camps, and education-related activities from June 14 until the end of the storm in order to prevent any fatalities and inconveniences for the populace.

The statement issued in the wake of a high alert issued by the Met Office, Sindh government regarding the cyclone, which might the coastal areas of Karachi Division and cause torrential rains/storms in the city.
