Adil Raja arrested in London

LONDON: YouTuber Adil Farooq Raja has been arrested in the United Kingdom (UK) for running a defamatory campaign against Pakistan’s state institutions, the private news channel reported on Wednesday.

Scotland Yard reportedly detained the contentious YouTuber Raja. The investigators called him in to be questioned about his alleged involvement in inciting violence on YouTube and other websites.

It is important to note that Raja also charged in several Pakistani cases involving encouraging people to rebel against the government.

Raja and other Pakistanis living abroad detained by Islamabad police on Monday for inciting disobedience to the government.

The FIR registered on the complaint of G-11 resident. Muhammad Aslam at the Ramana police station. Overseas Pakistanis, Shaheen Sehbai, Haider Raza Mehdi, Wajahat Saeed Khan and Adil Farooq Raja have nominated in the case under terrorism and sedition charges.

According to the FIR, Raja and other individuals who reside outside of Pakistan attempted to incite anarchy in Pakistan by inciting people against defense institutions. The FIR stated that the accused were “playing into the hands of foreign hostile agencies.”

Raja left Pakistan in April of the previous year. He was well-known for spreading misinformation about government institutions as part of sinister schemes to destabilize Pakistan. Recently, his YouTube channel also blocked for disinformation.
