ISLAMABAD/DAVOS: The Foreign Office (FO) on Sunday categorically rejected the notion of any delegation from Pakistan visiting Israel.
The FO statement came following reports in local media quoting Israel President Isaac Herzog as saying that he had had an “amazing experience”. While meeting a delegation of Pakistani expatriates living in the United States.

Responding to media queries, the FO spokesperson stated the reported visit in question organised by a foreign NGO which is not based in Pakistan. The spokesperson stated Pakistan’s position on the Palestinian issue is clear and unambiguous. Adding there is no change whatsoever in Islamabad’s policy on which there is complete national consensus.
The spokesperson also maintained that Pakistan steadfastly supports the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self-determination.
The establishment of an independent, viable and contiguous Palestinian State with pre-1967 borders and Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. In accordance with the relevant UN and OIC resolutions; is imperative for just and lasting peace in the region, the spokesperson said.

According to media reports, the Israeli president was speaking at the WEF in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday about the Abraham Accords — a US-backed deal that led to the normalization of Israel’s ties with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office, after the Abraham Accords struck in August 2020; had made it clear that Pakistan was not considering recognizing Israel.

“For just and lasting peace, it is imperative to have a two-state solution in accordance with the relevant United Nations and OIC resolutions; with the pre-1967 borders, and Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the capital of a viable; Independent and contiguous Palestinian State,” the Foreign Office had said.
